If you’ve been thinking about getting into airsoft but don’t know where to start, you’re not alone. A lot of new players assume they need expensive gear or loads of experience before stepping onto the field — but that’s not the case at all.

At Section 5 Airsoft, we welcome new players every week and help them get started the right way.

What Is Airsoft?

Airsoft is a team-based action sport where players use realistic replica equipment to complete missions, compete in game modes, and enjoy tactical gameplay. It combines teamwork, movement, strategy, and adrenaline in a safe, controlled environment.

Do You Need Your Own Equipment?

No. Most beginners start by using rental equipment, which is the easiest and most affordable way to try the sport before buying your own gear.

At Section 5 Airsoft, we help first-time players get set up and ready so you can focus on enjoying the game.

What Should You Bring?

For your first session, keep it simple:

  • Comfortable clothing you can move in

  • Good footwear with grip

  • A positive attitude

Is Airsoft Safe?

Yes — when played at a properly run site with clear rules and marshals, airsoft is a safe and enjoyable sport. Safety briefings, eye protection, and game rules are all there to keep everyone protected.

At Section 5 Airsoft, beginner safety and confidence are a priority.

Will I Be Good Enough?

Absolutely. Everyone starts somewhere. You don’t need experience to enjoy airsoft. Many first-time players quickly become regulars once they realise how fun and welcoming the community can be.

Why Start at Section 5 Airsoft?

We’re proud to be known as one of the friendliest sites around, with a growing community of regular players and staff who genuinely enjoy helping newcomers.

The Social Aspect of Airsoft

One of the most rewarding aspects of airsoft is the opportunity to meet new people and build friendships. Many players form lasting bonds through shared experiences on the field. Here are some ways to enhance your social experience:

1. Team Play

Joining a team can provide a sense of belonging and camaraderie. Teams often train together, strategize, and participate in events, creating a strong community.

2. Attend Events

Participating in larger events can introduce you to a broader range of players and styles. These gatherings often foster a spirit of friendly competition and collaboration.

3. Share Your Experiences

Engage with fellow players by sharing your experiences, tips, and stories. This can help you learn from others and contribute to the community.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to try airsoft for the first time, Section 5 Airsoft is ready for you.
